Limestone Wounds
LIMESTONE WOUNDS - ART PRINT
THE STORY BEHIND THIS PRINT
I was resting between attempts on a boulder project along the Dorset coast and I went for a little wander with my camera to find some interesting shots. Down by the shoreline with waves crashing about nearby, I came across an interesting feature. There was a little crack in the rock, it must have been only 4 inches wide. Looking a bit closer, if you view it at the right angle, you could see all the way through the rock to a sunlit slab of limestone, with this gorgeous texture on it. I took some snaps and then returned back to the project. I carried on climbing for a while but only to be rewarded with a sizeable wound on my leg. When I got home, I loaded up the images and messed about with composition and colour until I had landed on something that captured a sense of that day. A feeling of bouldering by the sea on beautiful razor sharp crimps and having some battle scars to show for your efforts.
